Companies House Verification for Saudi Residents

How directors in Saudi Arabia verify for Companies House: passports, national ID and Iqama, Arabic name spellings and Saudi addresses.

CorpAssist Compliance Team5 min readUpdated 5 October 2026

Saudi nationals and residents of Saudi Arabia who are directors or PSCs of UK companies must verify their identity with Companies House. You can do it online from Riyadh, Jeddah or anywhere else in the Kingdom, with your passport or another government photo ID.

This overview is also available in العربية.

Arabic Names in Latin Letters

Arabic names can be written in Latin letters in several ways (Mohammed, Muhammad, Mohamed), and long names with a father’s and grandfather’s name are often shortened on the Companies House register.

An automated check can treat those as a mismatch. On the ACSP route, a compliance officer compares your passport with the register and records alternative spellings and shorter forms of your name.

Which ID to Use

A Saudi passport, or the passport of your nationality if you are a resident, is usually the best choice. CorpAssist also accepts other government-issued photo ID, such as a national ID card or residence permit (Iqama), as long as it is valid.

Why Directors in Saudi Arabia Choose CorpAssist

Identity verification is a legal requirement, so getting it right the first time matters. Here is what CorpAssist handles for you:

  • Saudi and other passports, national ID cards and Iqama accepted
  • Arabic name spellings and shortened names reviewed by a compliance officer
  • No UK bank account, UK credit history or UK phone number needed
  • Saudi addresses and bank statements or utility bills accepted
  • No app: complete the form on any computer in about 10 minutes
  • From £29.99 + VAT, with Fast Track in 1 business day

Saudi Addresses

Give your full residential address, not a PO box. If you use the Saudi National Address, include the building number, street, district and city. A recent bank statement or utility bill showing your name and address, dated within the last 3 months, works as proof of address.

What You Need

  • Any valid, government-issued photo ID, such as your passport, driving licence or national identity card
  • One proof of address dated within the last 3 months, such as a bank statement or utility bill
  • Your residential addresses for the last three years, with no gaps (overseas addresses are fine)
  • Your full name, date of birth and any previous names

The full list is in our verification checklist. For everything else about verifying from abroad, read the overseas director verification guide, and check your date with the deadline calculator.
